Steps For a Successful Food Drive:

Set a Date
Decide when you want to hold your drive and how long you want it to run. Drives can be as long or as short as you want, but most are about 1-2 weeks.

Pick a Location

Are you going to hold your drive at your school, office, or workplace? Think about where a good place for posters and food bins would be. The more visible the drive is the more successful it will be!

Set Goals

Goals are a great way to motivate participants and make your drive even more successful.

Try setting goals by classroom, office floor, or age group. Offering prizes can be a great way to motivate teams to meet or exceed their goals.

Pickup Supplies

Contact your local Center Manager to set up a time to pick up all the crates, sleeves, posters, and coin jugs you need to make your drive a success. The Center Manger can also let you know what Hopelink’s greatest food needs are.

Advertise the Drive

Put up Hopelink posters around your school, church, or office so that everyone knows when the drive is and what you’re collecting. Have clearly labeled drop-off locations for food and monetary donations. Put information on school bulletin boards or in e-mails. The more reminders people have the more likely they will be to donate.

Have Fun

Remember, holding a food drive should be a fun experience for everyone involved. The more fun everyone has the more successful the drive will be and the more likely it will be that everyone will participate in the future.
